the history of LITEWERKS engineering
- 2014 - Own brand "LITE↯BLOX"
At the beginning of the year, our sister company WeightWorks engineering The decision was made to plan our first own product series in the field of lithium-based starter batteries.
Contrary to the trend at the time, the aim was to develop a technology-leading product with a focus on quality and safety that could replace the standard OEM starter battery 1:1 and thus significantly reduce weight without significantly reducing the everyday benefits.
In January 2014, initial tests will be carried out on relevant LiFePO4 battery cells for this purpose and a housing concept with a CFRP foam sandwich structure will be developed in parallel, which minimises influencing factors such as heat and mechanical stress and thus significantly increases the service life of the lithium cells:

From the very beginning, WeightWorks engineering has focussed on in-house development and stoically refuses to use existing electronic components from model making, as is common practice with relevant competitors.
The first prototypes will be sent to selected partners in professional motorsport for field testing in the middle of the year, which will confirm the concept pursued so far, so that the first LITE↯BLOX Generation "GEN1" from WeightWorks Manufaktur - Made In Germany & intended exclusively for use in motorsport - goes into small series production:

- 2018 - Foundation of LITEWERKS GmbH
In order to optimise the sales & service of the own brand LITE↯BLOXLITEWERKS engineering will be established as an independent company at the new company location in Constance on Lake Constance in order to decouple the new business field of holistic development of lightweight LiFePO4-based rechargeable batteries from the original business model.
As an integrated development company focussing on intelligent LiFePO4 high-current batteries, we serve the following markets in addition to our own brand LITE BLOX high performance lightweight batteries numerous Renowned customers in OEM automotive, industry and professional motorsport with customised solutions and small series applications from 6-48V.
